Tribute & Message From The Family

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Victor R. Jury, 89, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and join his first wife, Gene, in heaven Wednesday, May 29, 2013, while in hospice in Fort Worth.
Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday at North Richland Hills Baptist Church, 6955 Boulevard 26, North Richland Hills. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Better Together, 6955 Boulevard 26, North Richland Hills, Texas 76180.
Victor was born May 4, 1924, in Amarillo to Albin and Bessie Bynum Jury. He grew up in Borger and graduated from Borger High School. After high school, he attended college at Notre Dame as a participant in the U.S. Navy V-12 officer development program during World War II and, afterwards, Texas Technical College, now Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, where he received a bachelor of science in industrial engineering.
Victor began his career working for Westinghouse Electric Supply in Amarillo as a salesman where he worked for several years before joining Graybar, where he held roles in sales, district sales management and branch management in El Paso and Dallas; Chicago, Ill.; Albuquerque, N.M.; and Miami, Fla. He retired from Graybar in 1976 after 28 years. In 1977, too energetic to remain inactive, he came out of retirement to found Summit Electric Supply with his friend, David Meredith, and his son, Victor R. Jury Jr. in Albuquerque, N.M. He retired from Summit Electric Supply in 1990 and began investing and volunteering in numerous ministries at his church.
Victor married Imogene "Gene" Eudy in 1950 in Lubbock. They were happily married for 47 years until her passing in 1997. Victor married Bonnie Armstrong in 2000 in Albuquerque, N.M. He was a member of North Richland Hills Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a member of The Gideons International ministry. He generously supported many ministries and charities with his wealth, work and wisdom.
All who knew him have memories of his intellect, integrity, humility and, above all, generous nature. He gave without seeking credit or attention for himself and approached the things he cared about with exceptional passion and high standards. He left an indelible impression on most who knew him and his influence will be felt for generations. He wanted to make a difference, and did.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Albin and Bessie; sister, Florence; brother, Gene Ray; and beloved wife, Gene.
Survivors: His devoted wife, Bonnie, of North Richland Hills; son, Victor R. Jury Jr. and wife, Mary, of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter, Jan Efurd and husband, Richard, of Keller; stepson, Phil Armstrong and wife, Ann; stepdaughter, Jan Robertson and husband, Jim; brother, Maurice Jury of Milwaukee, Wis.; his brother, George Jury and wife, Pat, of Lubbock; grandchildren, Danielle Jury, Jonathan Efurd and wife, Kathryn, Austin Efurd, Madison Efurd, Victor R. Jury III and Meredith Jury; stepgrandchildren, Erik Smith and Tiffany Rupert; great-grandchildren, Chloe Lapp, Rayden Ali and Jonathan Hart Efurd; and stepgreat-grandchildren Dillon Feeler, Alexis Rupert and Merritt Rupert

My condolences for your lose, Vic. I remember your Dad as having a lot of trust and faith in you. Example...what other Dad would let his 15 year old son fill his garage with lawnmowers for sale; which you did sell quite quickly. An old Friend,Paul.

Mr. Jury was already "retired" from Summit when I started working here in 1996. Every time I saw him, he always greeted me and it always included a smile- something I will never forget. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this difficult time.
